anti reflective coatings
All optical instruments and appliances such as cameras, telescopes, microscopes, binoculars etc all have anti reflective coatings because it significantly improves the clarity of vision. Lenses also appear almost invisible and most of the visible light is passed through the lens rather than being reflected. The benefits are clearer, sharper vision with less glare from lights.
uv coatings
This type of coating protects the eyes from absorbing harmful UV rays. Long term exposure can damage DNA, cause melanomas, cataracts and damage to the macula at the back of the eye. It is cumulative and irreversible.
